A beleza do Poço Negro não se deve apenas ao Ribeiro do Pego, mas também à frondosa vegetação que vive nas suas margens e dele extrai a água para o seu metabolismo. É esta a flora do poço negro, composta por fetos, gramíneas, árvores e muitas flores, vivem também ameaçadas por espécies invasores, onde algumas espécies de acácia tendem a destruir as espécies autóctones.

The beauty of the Poço Negro (Dark Pool) is due not only to the Ribeiro do Pego (Brook of Pego), but also the lush vegetation that lives on its banks and it draws water for its metabolism.
